Live Teleseminar around the World! August 2, 2012 Thursday at 7pm EST
Sara K. Vogeler, BMC, LMT, has been invited as a speaker to a unique teleseminar series about “fitness” that goes much farther and deeper than just being fit. The series is called “Transformational Fitness – Body, Shape, Space,” hosted by Jennifer McLean, a renowned healer, author and speaker.
Jennifer is even better known as the host of the largest teleseminar in the health and wellness space, “Healing With The Masters” reaching over 250,000 in 203 countries.
This particular program is focused on a more therapeutic approach to fitness that ensures pain relief, balance, strength and overall health.
Sara is interviewed about her vision of a healthy body and peaceful mind (Thursday Aug. 2 at 7pm EST), discussing her roots in Body-Mind Centering®, the 8 services she offers to reduce pain, and why building awareness is the best foundation for fitness.
In the meantime, here's the write-up of the interview by Jennifer McLean and Dianne Woodruff:
As Jennifer pointed out early on, the Olympics are a beautiful example of what our bodies can do when they are in perfect sync with the mind. You have the ability to tune into your body and develop an intimate relationship with the “how” and “why” of your movement that leads to a long and energetic life.
This call with Sara K Vogeler just took off as we began to hear from her and learn about her experience with Neuromuscular Therapy. We began with talking about movement patterns and the effect that faulty or negative patterns can have on your body and ease of movement.
Sara explained that a faulty pattern can be as simple as a specific movement that has a negative effect on another part of your body. If you have an injured hip, for example, you may take pressure off that hip and cause more stress on the opposite side of your body. If that pattern continues, you can alter your entire body structure.
She also described the importance of bringing in a sense of noticing how your body is aligned. One of the simplest ways to see if your body is aligned is to stand in front of a mirror and hang a plum-line down the center of your body. Then, take a look at how your spine is shifted from side to side. Look at your shoulders – are they square to that line? Make little adjustments on a regular basis and align your body with that straight vertical line.
As the conversation shifted, Sara shared that her definition of fitness is being able to wake up in the morning feeling great. It starts with that desire to jump out of bed and just do things.
You have to define fitness for yourself and understand your capacities.
You can also define your own fitness by your own state of mind. There are no universal criteria that make you a “fit” individual but Sara explained fitness in an all-inclusive formula that wraps eating, flexibility, mental stability, joy, and physical function into a completely personal ball of you.
It’s up to you to take a look at how fit you really are. Then, determine if that definition leaves you feeling content.
If you’re unsure of your own definition of fitness, begin exploring your body and decide how you can be more fit for your own purposes. Just start moving and have fun with it! Being healthy includes being happy – pain can easily show up as an effect of an emotional state. You may have to shift the emotional before you can move toward your ideal fitness goal.
When you look at the origins of movement, Sara explained that movement is the key to life. The first nerve that develops in a human being actually sends a response to the brain and orients your body in space. She shared that understanding movement and the development of our movement really opens our eyes to the beauty of the human anatomy. There are so many processes that take place in order to achieve human movement. We are all truly amazing beings in unbelievably complex bodies.
She led us through an exercise that helped us see the sensitivity and response of our body. It helps you wake up and brings attention to all parts of our bodies, front and back.
Let’s get out there and keep moving in new, unique, and FUN ways!
