Lecture-Demonstrations

On the third Saturday of every month at 1:00 (unless I am teaching a class), there is a free demonstration of Sara's Neuromuscular Movement Therapy in which a visitor is selected for treatment. The volunteer's movements and posture will be analyzed and improved. It is fascinating to see and experience changes in the body in just one hour! Please come! Call 212.242.4962 for more details and to register.

Thermogram Clinics

I am pleased to offer non-invasive, safe, breast cancer screening by a board-certified, experienced doctor named Phillip Getson, D.O., who has practiced in this field for 25 years. The Thermogram Clinic occurs on Mondays every 3-4 months. Thermograms are infrared scans of the body which detect heat differences in the tissues. Since cancer usually generates capillary growth, this raises the temperature of the tissue so that it is detectable by camera, often many years in advance of the mammogram or sonogram. Call 242.492.4682 or e-mail Sara at svogeler@mac.com.

Saturday Afternoon Seminars on the Senses

10/4, 11/8, 12/6, 1/10/09, 2/7, 3/7

From inside the womb we begin to hear, to feel, and to touch. When we are born these perceptions help us bond to our mothers, discover our selves, and create relationships to others and the world. Each seminar will focus on the anatomy and function of a sense, and then explore its contributions to our growth and development. Each is a three-hour nugget, only one Saturday a month, from 1 to 4pm, designed to fit into our busy lives.  Each seminar costs $60. Call for a brochure: 212.242.4962, or click here.

Early Patterns in Life: Sunday Dec. 7, 2008

To hit a ball, ride a bike, or lift weights with good technique depends on early patterns encoded in our genetic make-up. In fact, these early movements help us to bond, to let go, to accept or reject, to be assertive or to be receptive. We can go back and uncover these connections, learn what we didn’t know, and repattern who we are today. Based on Body-Mind Centering®, this seminar will teach you the sequence of development starting with pre-vertebrate (vibrational) and vertebrate (spinal) patterns. We will open the world of reflexes, righting reactions and equilibrium responses, involving gravity, space and the three planes of motion. You will feel the developmental stages of the growing newborn, who learns to bond, to trust, and to survive. The seminar runs from 10 to 4 (with an hour for lunch) on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 and costs $100. Click here for a brochure.
